SED Juvenile Grader
The SED Juvenile Grader is a game-changer for oyster farmers and producers worldwide. Developed in partnership with local oyster farmers, the SED Juvenile Grader gently grades and cleans seed and juvenile oysters – dramatically decreasing handling damage and reducing mortality rates to as low as 1.5%.
Gentle, fast and economical, the SED Juvenile Grader can be operated by a single worker, grading and cleaning oysters into three sizes at an average of 100,000 per hour.

For the team at SED Graders, this was a problem we knew we could fix. Our SED Juvenile Grader is specifically designed to lower the mortality rate when handling and grading seed and juvenile oysters – and the results for oyster farmers are nothing short of phenomenal.
In fact, our main hatchery here in Tasmania experienced an 18.5% drop in its mortality rate after implementing the SED Juvenile Grader into their farming process. Previously recording a mortality rate of 20% across their 1.5 – 25mm seed and juvenile oysters, that rate has now dropped to 1.5%.
